Your home in the heart of Monopoli

Why This House Matters to Us

Before telling you about the apartment, we'd like to tell you something about us.

We are an architect and a designer, and for many years we have lived abroad. Travelling has taught us that the places we remember most are rarely the most luxurious or the most perfect. They are the places that feel genuine. Places with a story. Places that make you feel welcome without trying too hard.

Monopoli is that place for us.
It is where we return whenever we come back to Italy. A place where mornings begin more slowly, conversations last a little longer and life follows the rhythm of the sea rather than the clock.

La Casa al Mare has always been our refuge.
When we decided to welcome guests, we made a conscious choice: we would share our home without turning it into something it was never meant to be.

So, before you arrive, there is one thing we'd love you to know.

You are not checking into a hotel.
You are stepping into a home.

A home where meals are cooked, books are read, music is sometimes played, and sunsets are never taken for granted.

You will find shelves filled with architecture, photography and novels that have travelled with us over the years. You'll find a kitchen equipped the way we like to use it ourselves. A dining table designed for long conversations. Vintage furniture chosen because we love living with it, not because it photographs well.

Nothing has been staged.
Everything has been lived.

We believe that true comfort is not about polished perfection.
It is about opening a cupboard and finding everything you need.
Cooking dinner after a day at the beach.
Leaving your book open because you'll continue reading tomorrow.
Feeling comfortable enough to walk barefoot.

For us, luxury is not measured by stars or flawless interiors.
It begins the moment a place stops feeling like somewhere you're staying and starts feeling like somewhere you belong.

If that is the kind of journey you're looking for, we hope you'll feel at home here.

More Than a Place to Stay.                               A Home to Live In.

The apartment occupies the second floor of a historic building in the heart of Monopoli's old town, just a few minutes' walk from the harbour and the sea.

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and washing machine, and opens onto a generous dining area where family and friends naturally gather.

The living room preserves its original vaulted ceiling in local tuff stone and combines authentic Apulian architecture with carefully selected vintage design pieces.

The master bedroom opens directly onto the private rooftop terrace, perhaps the most special corner of the house. From here you can admire the rooftops of the old town, church domes, the fishing harbour and the changing colours of the Adriatic throughout the day.

The second bedroom offers generous space for families, with both a queen-size bed and bunk beds.

For additional comfort during the warmer months every bedroom is air-conditioned and has ceiling fans .

One of the greatest pleasures of staying here is that almost everything happens on foot.

Fresh bread from the bakery.
A swim before breakfast.
A lazy afternoon exploring hidden alleys.
An aperitivo overlooking the harbour.
Dinner in a family-run trattoria.

Then, one last visit to the rooftop before going to bed, listening to the sounds of the old town settling into the night.
